Still budgeting out five minutes to dial a call because you're using a rotary phone? Unsure why typewriters aren't being sold at Staples? Plenty of people find modern solutions unnecessary and annoying. See why you're doing the right thing by holding on for dear life to the ways of the past:
You know how fashion trends come and go, and then come back again? It's exactly the same with technology. Sometimes it takes a few years, sometimes it takes a few centuries. We may not use candles to light our homes anymore, or the Pony Express to deliver urgent messages, but there's little doubt they’re going to make a comeback any day now.
Sure, you know that more advanced software could do those pesky tasks at the office that keep you staying later and later, but why would you want that? It's a major challenge in your life to feel like you're going insane from repetitive work, and what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
3. Deadlines Are a Conspiracy
When your clients expect you to keep their project running like clockwork, you know that their deadlines are friendly suggestions at best. Advanced PM software that delegates tasks to keep everyone on track and communicating with each other may seem necessary, but you know that this extra effort is complete overkill.
Shoveling money into a fire is certainly fun, but sometimes it helps to waste your hard-earned cash in more abstract ways. When you stick with your old technology, you use more resources to perform fewer tasks. This way, everyone wins!

Don't think about all the work that should be done, when you could be challenging marketing to a be-all, end-all tournament.
When you actually consider the reasons why you wouldn't want to upgrade your technology, it may start to seem a little short-sighted. In the right doses, technology can truly take a company up to the next level and it can help a company avoid a financial or PR disaster.
